Departing from the cruise ship terminal of Ponta Delgada, your tour heads off to explore the west side of São Miguel Island and the aptly named Sete Cidades Massif with its 6 x 5 kilometer wide crater and spectacular blue and green lakes.
You'll experience the best that this region has to offer including the breathtaking viewpoint of Boca do Inferno (Mouth of the Inferno) which stands at around 730 metres above sea level. You'll meander around the lake away from the crowds and be able savor the moments of serene silents only broken by the sound of bird song. Along the way you'll be surrounded by lush green landscapes, roadsides that appear almost manicured and at the right time of year view the explosion of colour that the hydrangeas provide to this truly breathtaking region.
